The SaReGaMa of Life

by Lija Renjit

As I was reminiscing, a parade of thoughts arrayed in my mind but I couldn’t cling onto one. But then I stumbled over a thought:

We add years to our life, but do we add life to our years?? For instance do we add music to our ears, tune to our thoughts or rhythm to our hearts’ desires…

To begin with, let’s familiarize ourselves with these 3 phrases that might help us to be more bold and high-spirited…

  • “C’est la vie”(French) meaning “That is life / That's just the way things are”
  • “Hakuna Matada” (Swahili) meaning “No Worries / Just Chill”
  • “Que sera sera” (Spanish) meaning “Whatever will be, will be”
If we reflect over these deeply, we would realize how much of our time we do pointlessly misuse by worrying over matters we can’t undo. We rather indulging ourselves in fruitful affairs. We all need to get out of our shells and make a change…A deliberate change from the usual modus operandi of our day to day chores and as the saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”…that goes for all the Jills out there too!! A change is good…but a change should never change only the outward appearance but our inner outlook as well…

Do we really live with faith or is faith just a fashion statement? At times, whatever we indulge ourselves in backfires and by the time we realize the blunder, time is up! When things always don’t work out the way we all fantasize about, we tend to ask a multitude of questions like ‘Why did this happen to me?’ or ‘Why me?’ How many of us haven’t asked question like these to ourselves.

We all live in a world of rat-races; some move ahead some fall back, amidst which there are times when we feel worthless. Then what do we do? We clarify the situations we go through, try to find our own solutions, judge the results ourselves and yet end up no where… that’s when we turn to God! Life is like a timed-game; when you are at it, you rush for things to all directions and before you realize, it’s too late and there’s no going back.

We should remember that all good things come to an end, and sometimes the end marks the milestone of a new beginning. We move from station to station and life goes on…

Let’s remember what is written: He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, He strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

On a day to day basis, our mission is to play the right game at the right time. And God definitely knows the rules of the daily games he makes us play. Alas! The real truth is that we don’t remember to place God in front of all our deeds, so we fail many times. But the ultimate victory happens in the right time when He decides. We don’t realize that with God we are heroes and without God we are zeroes.

This point is emphasized when we read: My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Four lines of a popular Hymn remind us that:

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me’

God works this way, in ways we can’t even imagine. When we ask ourselves why He makes us go through these difficult times, we know not actually where these incidents may take us to. Only He knows and He will not let us fall. We just need to trust Him and seek His help. Then sit back, relax and see miracles unfolding in your life!

Imagine…if we could see our own dreams and make them all come true …It wouldn’t be called a “dream”…Some wishes, thoughts, hopes need to remain as such…unfulfilled!! That’s the spirit of life…in fact the essence of dreaming!! Many a time, we wish if there were a time machine, which could take us back or ahead of our present time, so as to undo our past or remodel our future; don’t we? But believe me, the past is over and the future is out of our hands!! God knows the best….

The secret of success in life as a famous song goes…

Secret of Success
Sarigame Padhanise
Maathiyosae
That's what we say’

It simply means that, for the secret of success in life, think differently, in a perspective unlike the usual… for e.g. If ABCDE is equivalent to numbers 12345, on adding the alphabets of the word “ATTITUDE” you will get 100. Attitude to life & work is what makes your life 100%. In a nutshell, change your attitude and you can change your life!!

At times, we forget to live but it is relations in our life that keeps us going. People come into your life for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime. You just need to find the difference. The one you keep for your lifetime becomes an integral part of your life and there you begin a relationship that comes with a lifetime bond.

Row through difficulties
Explore and Encourage
Love God and Love each other
Adjust to each others tantrums
Tell less and listen more
Ignite the spirit of music in your life
Owe your life to the Almighty
Nurture each little moment spent together

Our negativity radiates it to all around us and we knowingly or unknowingly tend to spread a low aura, which is harmful to the soul. Our minds need to be filled with positive thoughts. Don’t spend your precious time engrossed in futile gossips, annoying words, upsetting memories, shocking mishaps and negative thoughts or be it anything beyond your control. It is better to invest your energy in building positive todays, praying devotedly, working ardently and awaiting God’s blessings with which you can work wonders in your life…

And a final word of reassurance…The best is yet to come!!
